What happened to geo shells?

I downloaded a couple of geo shell textures and tried one of them to make sure I knew how to do it. A couple of hours when I want to use one for something I absolutely can't apply any of the textures to the shell and I have absolutely no idea why it's not working. What should I check that could have changed. (It's not that it's not displaying properly, since it having been applied doesn't show up in the undo log when I try to apply it)

    Can you give a link to the textures?

    What exactly are using to apply the textures to?

    Thanks for answering, but I found out it was just me being stupid. I thought I was doing everything the same, but I'd switched from the genesis to the genesis 2 which the texture I was trying to apply doesn't work with.
