Dforce Valid OpenCL 1.2 device not found

After searching the forums a bit the most relevant advice I found that didn't involve messing around with my registry (which I'd rather try after exhausting all other options first as that is a bit intimidating) involved updating my NVIDIA drivers. I tried that, but it still says Valid OpenCL 1.2 device not found, even after a reboot. When I go to the simulate tab to try dforce I can't do anything because it just says there's no valid opencl 1.2 device. I am, admittedly, using a pretty old rig here. My graphics card is a GEFORCE GTX 570. Is it just too old, or is there something else I can try?

Have you set your GPU as the dForce openCL device? Go to the advanced tab of your Simulation Settings pane.
How do I do that? All I see is a drop down in which the only choice is "dForce" and nothing else. Is there a GPU or CPU driver I might need as well? I saw those but I'm not sure how to locate the correct one for my system.
From what I've found, the GTX 570 runs openCL 1.1, and dForce requires at least 1.2, so that would explain why it's not seeing your GPU as a dForce device. What's your CPU?
Assuming all you need is the model it's Intel i7-2600K.
I've also run all my windows updates so I know my system is as up to date (via windows update) as it can be. If you need the full CPU its':
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Your CPU is likely so old there is no OpenCL 1.2 driver. I'm not going to spend the time looking it up but it seems likely.
You can buy a new graphics card and get dForce and iray. A 3080 is around $800 US once they are available.
Cool! iRay is at least working fine it's just the dforce I've had issues with. Would that still work with my CPU and motherboard? I was worried I'd have to upgrade everything to use it at this point.
Assuming you have a full length PCIE slot your only concern would be your power supply. Is it rated high enough and does it have 2 8 pin PCIE power connectors.
