Hi all,

Using DAZ3D 4.6: Downloaded mimic (DIM) but install failed. Manual d/l resulted in message saying "the installation path could not be found"

Any ideas? DAZ3D resides in c:program files

Thank in advance guys and gals!

G

What version of Mimic are you installing, is it this one? http://www.daz3d.com/mimic-live

There is a 32bit version as well as a 64 bit version, and you need to make sure that you are downloading the correct bit depth for your version of DAZ Studio.

    Hi JimmyC,

Thanks for the response, I'm using DS4_MimicLive_1.3.3.52_Win32 so it should be good for my Vista 32bit OS.

It looks as if all the files are in the DAZ3D folder with the exception of the Mimic3.exe file.

    Baffling to say the least!

I just downloaded the 32 bit version of the manual installer, and it installed correctly on my Win 7 64 bit system. On Win 7 64 bit, there are two sets of Program Files folders, and one of them is called Program Files (x86) which holds the 32 bit versions of applications.

It just looks like the Mimic installer cannot find the 32 bit version of DS, and I don't know off-hand how you would fix that. I never had Vista, and I went straight from XP to Win 7.

If you hang on for a little while, I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
