iRay render fails on GPU [solved-- update driver fixed]
iRay rendering on my GTX 1080 worked well for a long time, but recently it no longer works-- seems to be around the time of the 4.12 update (I'm running 4.12.1.118 on Windows). It fails on all scenes -- something small with a simple primitive like a few cubes, or a zillion polys, doesn't matter, just get a blank scene. No "compiling shaders" message, nothing . . . blank scene pops up instantly, eg render never seems to begin
When I render the scene with the CPU, it renders correctly, if slowly-- so its not that the scenes aren't set up correctly.
Tried the obvious things, reinstalling Daz. Checked out that other applications can see the GPU OK, and Daz itself reports the card, so it can "see" the GPU . . . but for some reason now it won't render with it.
The log shows a failure:
"2020-10-06 13:46:36.789 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(353): Iray [ERROR] - IRAY:RENDER :: 1.0 IRAY rend error: Cannot render: found no usable devices.
2020-10-06 13:46:36.789 Iray Render error: Invalid parameters (NULL pointer)."
Any ideas?
