Transfer content or un- re-install?

I need to free up space on my C: drive. I have two terabyte external drives attached to this machine with plenty of space on either for several copies of my content.

However, the process of moving content seems fraught, to say the least. The documentation is far from clear and posts here seem to advise either contradictory solutions or counsel despair.

Am I best to uninstall all of my content from the C: drive (delete the nominated folder as shown in DIM settings) and reinstall (I’m on cable, so re-downloading would be relatively painless), having nominated, say F:\DAZ_Content\ in DIM installation settings?

Now. How to do that last? It appears to me that, I should simply type the phrase Recommended DAZ Studio/Poser content folder in the “label” window and browse to F:\DAZ_Content (having previously created that folder), correct?

How do I connect DAZ Studio and Poser to these folders?

I had the same issue when re-installing a new computer, either copying, or reinstalling.
Well, finally, I re-installed everything with the DIM.
It is really not that long, it took me only one day for the most important products for me (around a thousand, but you install them by "groups" of the same theme). For the rest I took my time, and I still do no have everything, but thanks to the thumbs preview in the DIM, I re-install what I need when I need it.
You can see this as a real and great opportunity to reorganise your content. I made a folder for the figures, one for the outfits, one for the hair, one for the poses, one for weapons, one for vehicles and so on.... And I absolutely not regret having now all my content re-installed with DIM, now things are much faster to handle.

I edit : if you have a copy and want just to read your copy of your content somewhere else on an external hard drive, you just have to open Daz Studio, press F2, click on "content library", open "content directory manager", and for DAZ and poser content click add, and browse to your new location. You can remove the previous location too.

In DIM you also have to change the folder too but I'm not that sure how.
