Does Animate override KeyMate?

I'd like to have a character take a few step, stop, then look around. I am doing this in Daz Studio, using a Animate2 aniblock for the walk and stop. But when i go into Keymate…hoping to animate the head looking around…the keyframes I set vanish when I scrub through them. There's nothing in the Animate 2 timeline…just the last block. But is it overriding anything I do in KeyMate?
Is the solution to bake the unblocks and then have them all in keyMate to control?

I've also tried adding those head moves as a sub-track in Animate2 after the last block. Doesn't work. The movements don't stick and the figure just returns to a stock still pose. Also tries to do it in a sub-level of the main track. Still no dice.
Keymate works with the DAZ Studio timeline while Animate 2 uses its own timeline. You can't work in both at the same time (at least for a figure).
You can however transfer your animation from one timeline to the other. To do so, you can right-click in Animate 2 an select "Bake to Studio Keyframes" to transmit to the DAZ Studio timeline or select "Create aniBlock from Studio keyframes" to transfer your animation from the DAZ Studio timeline to Animate's.
Hope this makes sense.
Have you tried to go, not to the sub-track (its for pre-made aniblocks mostly) but to level 1 in animate 2, then tried to turn the head. It will stay turned until you hit the zero button (see pic). Then you can bake your aniblock onto the timeline and play with keymate and graphmate to further refine the animation.
Unlike keymate, animate 2 has some elaborate description of its features at:

I tried the level, but not the zero button. I'll give that w shot. and I do appreciate the GoFigure documentation, but I'd really love some step by step tutorials.
I agree.
Where are the tutorials to this ???
