Which base character to apply a morph on?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how can I see which base character I have to apply a morph on?
I know that often, there's a character.duf, but if there isn't, it's often difficult to find the "correct shape".
Example: If I apply "Lotus" for Aiko 6, on Aiko 6, it will look rather different. If I apply the shape to G2F basic, she will look just the same as the Character.duf version.
But just going by the name ("for Aiko6", I would have thought she had to be applied to Aiko6.
I've checked the readme-files for various characters, and haven't found the information there, neither.

So, is there sure a way to know on which base character I have to apply a shape morph?

Thanks. :-)

Often times such morphs use ERC freeze to automatically apply the Aiko form. If that's happening, it's possible that the morphs are doubling up, so that Aiko is being dialled beyond her normal limits. The exaggerated slim waist seems to suggest that something similar is happening here.

But how can I tell, without try and error, if I need to use the G2F Base, or Aiko6 as base for my shape to apply? (for sake of this example)
The problem is that it's not *always* the Base, but some shapes have to be applied to the "higher" shape, like, for example, Aiko 6, V5, etc.
But it's usually not said if you have to apply it to the one or the other, which is my problem.

G2F is always the base. Aiko 6 is G2F + Aiko 6. Character for Aiko 6 is G2F + Aiko 6 + Character. As for character for A6, loading a character preset, like Lotus.duf should load figure (G2F), and apply Aiko 6 (morph) and Lotus (morph).

I'd say the PA froze A6 into Lotus and thus applying her to A6 will get exaggerated results.

I'm glad you asked this, I have asked it before, last year I think. I usually end up experimenting and seeing what I like best, because sometimes there is a really big difference.

If you are looking for the exact character model, then apply to the character base (Genesis 2 base for generation 6 models), not the modified model the character is morphed from I would say. If you are looking for something different, then starting from an already modified model base (like Jose 6) could potentially produce some worth while variation of interest. Obviously some morphs are going to break a model's appearance when "applied" over other morphs. Some tweaking and inspection may be called for.

And as a Side note, some of the add on figures, don't call the Aiko6 or whatever at the 100%. Some dial the morph slider at lesser values, and as Novica stated, try both ways anyways.

Put them both sided by side, and open the product preview pic so you can see all of them side by side if you wish. I do that just to make sure the product installed correctly, and I'm using the load-stuff for the product correctly. Then I'll go and have fun with the product.
