How to match decals with figure texture?

I want to use Face Scars Decals for Genesis 2 on a Genesis 8 Male figure. Obviously the textures don't match, and the video on the product page on how to match isn't very clear to me. I hope it is possible, as I like the decals.

Genesis 2 is mostly 3Delight and Genesis 8 mostly Iray, so that's at least one problem.
Looking at the product page and video, those seem to be conforming items with just the scar, not "decals" as in "Iray decals". You fit them to your figure then fiddle with the surface settings (mostly diffuse color in the video) to adjust the colors so they work well with the skin texture you used.
