New Laptop Recommendations

It has become apparent that my GPU is starting to go out in my laptop, and looking to replace it shortly. I'm not really a tech savy person, but my husband is, so I struggle to tell him what I need to efficiently operate DazStudio without frying my GPU. 

I currently run a 2 year old HP Omen 2.2 Ghz Intel i7 6 core with GeForceGTX 1060. 

I don't do any animations, or a lot of characters, but I do create a lot of sets with assets to create backgrounds for visual stories. My laptop has a habit of crashing Daz with extremely large and detailed sets. I don't need a top of the line laptop, and don't want to spend a ton of money, but want something I won't need to replace next year. 

Looking at HP Omen with GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

Alternately, we have a custom build desktop

Processor AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.50 GHz
Installed RAM 24.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
amd radeon rx 560 seriesvideo card

We may just consider switching to Nvidia (slightly cheaper alternative). 

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

It will be a lot cheaper to just get a Nvidia GPU like the soon to be release RTX 3070 and some sort of cheap laptop for you to use for other things. Laptops are far from ideal for DS and gbetting one that will fit your needs will be expensive and still likely unsatisfactory.
