which sets render faster than others?

i noticed some sets render really fast. Then when I use another artists set it renders really slow. The only thing I changed was the set. Same lights and characters.

How can I tell which sets will render faster before I buy?

Thanks

Render time is a very complex relationship between many different things, to mention a few:
    - Light settings
    - Displacement maps
    - Transmaps

Poly count of an object is also one. There is no way to tell how something is gonna render before you buy it.

Size of the set matters. If it's a set that is one giant piece, and you can only render it as one giant piece, it's going to go slower. If it has a lot of smaller pieces, and you delete the ones that aren't in front of the camera, it will usually go faster. Poly count matters also, and that's not something that can be told from a product description; it can only sometimes be told from the renders.

    Overlapping Transmaps are particularly troublesome.

one way to tell, as i seem to be able to do so far, is that ' older ' made products render faster then the 'new' ones. here is an example. 'Loft4lease' vs 'hot tub pergola'.

That could also be because it is a different PA. Pred's models do tend to be reasonably mid to low poly compared to some other vendors, and his textures are often smaller in pixel size, which also helps.
