Ponytail volume and Dforce

Let's say I make the tail on a ponytail (Sleek Ponytail or any like it) dForce capable. If I run the simulation straight after that, the tail loses all volume and drops like a bunch of wet strings. What settings should I input in the surface tab to have the tail maintain some volume? All I want to accomplish with this is to make the tail angle according to gravity  when bending/tilting parts of my character, such as neck, head and torso.

  • Not going to work. You're going to need actual dForce hair.

you can but it needs one of two edits

either a new pinned surface created using the geometry editor near the tie

    (what I do)

or a dynamic surface addon you weightpaint

  • So far I have been trying with the weightmap and weightpaint. What I struggle with is the settings required for the dforced area so it keeps some volume during the simulation.
