Yes:
I'm having to do a reinstall of my Daz 3d Studio application. I just need to know how many content directories should I have in my library.? I think that this may be the reason fore the reinstallation. Fore when I open 3d s 4.6 I can not find my content under the content tab in the application. I don't know what else to do or try to make my content visiable in the content tab.

Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated, and I sure do- thankyou for all your support

Thanks again

You can have as many content directories as you like, really. Though one is sufficient for most people. The trick is getting Daz to notice them.

Under Preferences you can set the content directories where Daz will look for content. Note that this does NOT automatically add them to the Smart Content pane, but it does allow you to find them in the Content Library so you can browse them at your leisure.

There's no right number. Go to Edit>Preferences>Content Library, click the Content Directory Manager and expand the Current branch, under that the DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats branches, and post a screenshot. If you are installing with the Install Manager start that, click the gear icon at top left, go to the Installation tab and post a screnshot of that.

I went ahead and did a reinstall of the Daz Studio application. I have provided a screen shot of the problem at hand in order for you all to get a better understanding of what to do to solve this problem. I hope this helps you out.

The start up error message is a quirk. Studio setting files don't get changed when an old version is replaced by a newer version so the new version so DS is trying to load an out of date file. The easy way to fix this is to ignore the error and let Studio start then go to Edit / Preferences / Startup tab, uncheck the Load box and for good measure click the bar after it and set to None. Do the same thing for Scene tab in Preferences.

    Dear Bro:
I did a reinstall like you said and I opened Ds4, and the application couldn't find. my library to load the genesis figure into the scene, but everything seems to look ok. I found my content directory, but not the Gen figure. I'm really confused at this point.

    Thanks again

Time to rule out the obvious.

Firstly, have you installed the Genesis Starter Essentials? This actually contains the Genesis figure as well as other niceties. The Genesis 2 Starter Essentials are, obviously, for the Genesis 2 figures and so forth. If you haven't yet installed them, find them in your Product Library and download them.

Secondly, is Daz actually looking in the right folder? Knowing where the folder is located is only half the battle. If Daz isn't looking for it, it can't find it. Again, under Preferences (Press F2) you can tell Daz which content folders to use and where to find them. See the picture below for a visual aid.
