iRay farm rendering: Number of slaves = number of GPUs rented?

A question from a noob of course. I wonder if I select Number of slaves = 32, will it mean I have 32 GPU running parallelly? Could we expect roughly that 1 day animation job will be reduced to somewhere between half an hour to two hours? Thank you very much for helping me decide.
