Automatic detection of Poke-Through?

Hi!

Sometimes when I'm posing my scene, I don't notice a poke-through, and I'll only notice it after it was rendered.

Is there any solution to detect Poke-Through automatically ?

Thanks in advance!

  • Not really. One option would be to save a couple of sahder presets with cotrasting base colours and apply one to all the surfaces of each model, that should help to spot poke-through (you may also want to have it kill any opacity maps/values below 1 so that the surfaces are clearly visible).

  • Note that sometimes poke-through doesn't exist until you render. If one or both of the surfaces coming close together includes a Displacement setting, it's possible for the displacement to poke one mesh through the other. This won't be visible in the Viewport before rendering, since the OpenGL engine used by the Viewport doesn't support displacement. If this happens, one possible fix would be to turn the Displacement value down a bit, or off altogether.
