Looking for skin shader settings for normal lighting conditions
Hey!
I'm looking for some shader options for my genesis 8 characters. I know there are some and a ton of guides. I've tried many of them but they all pretty much require hdr maps and a ridiculous amount of lighting to look ok.
I like to keep my ligthing realistic and simple. For outdoor scenes I only create a sphere primitive and put it around y4000 height and use that as a sun node.
For indoor scenes I do the same but also add ghost lights by KindredArts.
Great and simple but you are stuck to rendering black people. Every character you put in the scene will be black. And people that are supposed to be black become so black that I've actually created man made black holes!
I have used settings by Arnold C here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/113496/iray-skin-needs-its-own-base-mixing/p4
(his post is almost at the bottom)
They work great but they are old and time consuming. Does anyone use the same kind of lighting as me in their scenes and have you found any shaders that are easy and fast and create reaslistic skin tones with the simple lighting setup?
