HELP - Correct way to rig loose clothing?

HI Everyone,

I've created a custom hoodie model which I made in Marvelous Designer.

I don't know the correct way to rig it to my characrer in Daz3D.

I've attached images of the hoodie before and after applying the Transfer Utility.

As you can see it tries to shrink wrap the hoodie around the breasts. How do I prevent this from happening?

Also I'm sure I will most likely need some kind of custom bone or rigging to get the hood to deform correctly when the character turns her head.

Is it possible to to apply weighted rigging to a model in Daz3D?

  • Loose clothing is very difficult to rig, you are likely to need a vast number of corrective morphs tied to the rotations. Setting it up to use dForce, with or without basic rigging, is probably far more practical.
