Can I pause a render without cancelling it? [SOLVED]

My laptop is on it's last legs and after a nearly, but not quite, full render, I have to save my work and turn the computer off because of the cooling system being unable to keep up.  I was wondering if it is possible to pause renders without cancelling them so that the computer can rest every now and then.

    Yes. Cancel the render but don't close the preview window or save the render. There is a resume button in the preview window. When you want to start the render again press resume.

    And this will resume from where it was stopped and not start again from the beginning?  Thank you, I'll try that in future.  Maybe do it in bursts of 15 minutes.

    It will continue the same render, although sometimes the convergence percentage can stop displaying properly.

    NB: You won't be able to turn off your computer or close Daz Studio.
