Joint editor & clothing glitches

I've done something which has caused the joint editor/ bones to show ALL of the time. I don't even know how to use this feature, so I certainly don't want it obscuring my figure. I thought it might toggle in the tools section, but it doesn't make a difference if I hit the button again.
Also, for the first time ever, when I apply clothing, I can't click on the pants, etc. to delete it. All that comes up is a list of options to "Customize drawing".
I bought the Kids4 Pro bundle and was working with the Cowpoke clothing when this first happened. Then I loaded Stephanie 6 and had the same problems.
I've restarted Daz, but haven't done a restart on the computer yet.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hit the Transform button on the control panel. It looks like a plus sign with arrows pointing in all directions. You currently have bone tool active, so clicking Transform should return it to your regular transform widget.

    Thanks.
Duh, I was about to write "never mind".
When I hit the joint editor tool, I expected a new tool bar. Didn't realize I was accidentally choosing this option over the universal tool ( or what ever).
While I hopefully have someone's attention- what's the deal with "Preset exceeds limits"? Sometimes this message pops up when I first load a figure, before I've done anything to it! It goes on to ask if I want to "turn the limits off & apply the preset as it was created or leave the limits on." No matter what I choose, the figure loads and lets me apply clothing, so I can't figure what the problem supposedly is.

The message means that one or more joints, with limits on, is bent more than the limits allow. You will get it with some older figures as they were saved posed, to help Poser's IK work correctly, and the saved pose was beyond the limits of their joints. I usually opt for leave limits on, and then if the pose is bad I'll try again and choose limits off or try adjusting the pose by hand.
