rendering

I have a scene with a dinosaur and a background. When I render, the background looks great. However, the dinosaur looks fake with smooth shiny skin instead of "dini" skin which is what shows on the package I bought. I'm new with this. What am I not doing?

What are your render settings.
Also, what lighting are you using?
Here are the settings. The reason I'm confused, is because I didn't have to do anything to the scene. Plus I did another dinosaur last week that "just rendered" without any input from me.
Try these settings. They will take a lot longer to render but will give you the best results. Only setting you you may want to decrease from mine is the pixal sample. 16 works well
I tried this settings and the attached shows the result.
It's very plastic. The lighting i chose is sunlight. I'm sorry I'm so basic, but I am just learning this.
Thanks.
FYI, it also rendered very fast, which tells me something is amiss.
It is not the render settings it is the surface settings that need adjusting.
Did you apply the DS Mats to it
Which dinosaur is it?
That is fully the Poser texture settings. All poser textures will need adjusted in the Surfaces Tab if the item does not have DAZ Studio textures included for use instead.
