How did this guy make this?

I am just puzzled at something and wanted to run this by everyone here to see if anyone knows what was used for this image by this individual. I am not this person and am not trying to take credit for his work (just needed to make that official).

It seems he was able to take images and compile them together somehow to make this work which I think is very impressive. I just cannot figure how he could do this can anyone please shed some light on what this guy may have used? if you look on the links below the pic it shows the images he compiled. I not heard of anything like this before so any insight on what he used would be GREATLY appreciated, I did message him already asking but not had a reply. :)

This image contains NO NUDITY.

Going off of the bottom right logo, it looks like it may be a comic book cover. Of course I'm guessing.

No, that's a signature. The guy "Jeffach" is Jeff A Chapman, who works with DC Comics, thus the mark in the corner.

Everything was done in photoshop. modyfied base figure (photo of chick, liquified body morphs) hand painted items eg goggles combined with photo elements such as straps. Very well composed. The hard part of doing this is that you must match the lighting of all elements..He mentions that most of his pics used comes from shutterstock.com

See, there's a good example of 'fixing it in post' ;)

Definitely did some post work in photoshop, using filters, layers, and a lot a bit of talent. Some of the pieces in his gallery are better than others. a couple of the WonderWoman and the Catwoman stand out.

So is there a general basic tutorial to get started on this basic type of photo work? I just want something to very generally start off with.

Here is a video that I worked on with a great Illustrator Sam Kennedy. I hope this will give you an example of how to use different tools to accomplish a goal.

It's called Photomanipulation and it is a art form. Basically you take several different images cut them out then reassembly them in photoshop. Then you paint over it to make sure each of the indidvual items blend. Here is my favorite artist.
