4.12/1070-8GB-32GB-R5 checkerboard in (spot) render, not in Iray view

"Derelict Urban Corners" plus two Gen8 actors plus clothing: all well.

Deleted "Derelict", dropped "Abandoned Residence" in, arranged things, added 4 lights, spot render: Daz loads for 2 minutes, comes up with a checkerboard, spot render dialog closes.

Full "Render" - same: loads scene, shows a checkerboard, says it's done. 

However when switching View to Iray - it renders. 

Restarted Daz, same issue. What can I do to debug?

    No. In case it is relevant: when I dropped "Abandonded Residence" into the scene, it came out on top of the head of one actor and I adjusted the entire thing to be on ground level. But everything moved with it, cameras, props, the lot.

    Mystery solved: that little scene draws 6.7GB VRAM from a 8GB card and I disabled CPU fallback.

    Isn't that "...to allocate 64GB from 7.1GB..."? (XXX / 1024^2)

    I started looking at the memory consumption of textures and maps for that same reason, not too happy about the way I found memory just wasted for no benefit... For exactly the same level of detail 4MB textures would be needed, but the way texture has been done, a whooping 192MB is used, and that was just one texture file out of 1000+

    You're right actually... I just assumed it was 6.7GB. Think I'll have to have a look at Scene Optimizer.
