Hair not showing in Iray Preview only render

The vendor, AprilSYH doens semm to have a thread of their own in the commercial area, so I am posting this here:

I recently got me this product:https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-ophelie-hair-for-genesis-3--8-females but have a hard time usinfg it since I cannot make it show in iray preview (tried both, interactive and photorealistic as well belnding these to render settings). The only part that becoems visible would be the scalp. Problem is that textured preview also shows very course representation of the product and hardly offers usable control for posing the tails which is essential for this product. And, yes, I loaded the Iray materials (checked the correct folder path).

Any hints towards my failing are highly appreciated.

Hi :)  Please find the pdf included with the product for some usage tips - if you use Smart Content it will be in the product's "Documents" (thumbnail says "Double Click for Usage and Posing Tips"), or if you use the Content LIbrary it will be in the "Style and Poses" folder.

Also view the product's readme if you click on the product thumbnail in the Smart Content view.

To see the hair in the viewport pre-render there are presets for "Ophelie 20 Preview Hairs Off", "Ophelie 20 Preview Hairs On", and "Ophelie 20 Preview Render On" - they can be found in Materials (Smart Content view) or Style and Poses (Content Library view)

There are a bunch of pose presets included also for convenience.

I hope you find all the files included by getting familiar with exploring assets using either Smart Content or Content Library, goodluck! :)

Thanks for replying so quickly (and appologies for getting your name misspelled). Will try and look forward to put this most gorgeous hair to even better use with imüproved skills of mine. So, thanks for this excellent product! If I had one wish (doesn't neccessarily to be a "free" one) it would be a braided morph/option for the tails....

I hope you found the pdf and other files and it works out for you - I suspect #4 in my dForce hair render checklist, I get caught by that all the time :)

I'm not planning on twin dForce braids right now but will think about it, thanks :)  Meanwhile, if you have my lea hair 2 there is a long plait in that, that can be un-fitted, manually moved, then parented to the sides of the figure head ...  Note that my dforce plait does not drape with simulation, it must be posed using the bone chain via erc sliders and/or pose presets.  The loose tail at the ends do drape but simulating the braid will make it break up the plaiting.

Hi, thanks, found the iisue, in my case it was no.5 ;)

Re "abusing" Leas plait: I'm looking into something not longer than the Ophelie's braids would that be possible with that product without warping the braid structure?

It is possible if you are proficient with transforms sliders :) eg as in pic below I scaled the braid chain nodes plait03 to plait09 down and then moved them to be hidden inside the head.  Locking the nodes plait01 to plait09 then let me use the Active Pose tool and original pose presets for the remainder of the plaits.

If you require presets or have no time for kitbashing I suggest using

Thanks again, purchased Lea and will give it a try, can't get significantly more tedious than to fit my current goto Lada hair for V4 to G3/G8 ;)
