Ultrascenery keeps crashing

pascal023pascal023 Posts: 22

Sometimes during building the scene . Other times when switching from Textured shade to Nvidia iray or adding HDRI like: https://www.daz3d.com/orestes-iray-hdri-skydomes--vanilla-evening

Im using the latest Nvidia studio drivers

Daz 4.12.1 pro AMD 7 3700x, 2070 RTX super, 32GB

Also set rendering optimization to Memory as suggested in the manual.

Everything else is working like a charm.

Any idea where to look to solve this issue?

  • Hmm after checking  rendering optimization again it was set to speed. After changing it again to memory it looks like it is working now.

It is now rendering a basic build with a vanilla evening HDRI. Seems alright now.

Maybe i need to double check the optimization settings next time.

Use of instances requires the Optimization set to Memory. IIRC, the later Nvidia drivers recommend  the Memory setting although the Automatic setting probably works as well.

It will usually crash but not always when not set to memory. If you use your camera position to optimize the scene sometimes you can squeeze by until you remember to set memory to on.

  • Thank you for the information guys.

I did not had any crashes anymore since I set it to Memory.

Need to find me a good workflow to get the most out of this addon, but I already love the first results

Pascal023 if you haven't had the chance stop by the commercial thread there is a lot of great info found there.  Also you can look at the link in my signature and it takes you to a post I did gathering all the great tips and tricks from various people (disclaimer I havent updated it in about a week so anything newer might not be there)  One you might specifically be interested in, where Divamakeup created a preset to automatically set the Instances, several people have put it right in the US folder as a reminder to set it.

  • Hi Daventaki,

That's great! I will sure have a look at these.

    Thank you for sharing.
