Saving an image mid-render?

Is there a way to save an  image the way it is when I interrupt a render, but then resume the rendering?

Is this an Iray render? If so (and presuming you are rendering to a new window) then you can hit the "Cancel" button in that window but do not close the window then on the main DS window File - Save last render (or something like that, I can't remember the exact wording and don't have access to my render PC right now) and specify the filename to save it. Then go back to the render window and hit the "Resume" button.

Yes, File>Save Last Render is indeed the one you want.
