Daz studio can´t find the path to my old files/scenes.

Hi! Asked before but my question is gone so I ask again. Daz studio  can´t fin the path to my old scenes and files. Otherwise things works fine. I have made proper installations and the content in the databases can find

the things in my databases (daz, poser). Does anyone have any suggestions how to set the right paths so that Dazstuio can find the content in my old scenes/works.

    Can you post a screenshot of the error message and the full path to a file it can't find?

    I changed my hardrive but i sitll have another one which I used before and I have my whole database on that one. So I let daz stuido search for that database and it was installed in Daz studio perfectly. Things works when I create newscenses/files. It can find all the clothes and things in the database but not the content in the old scenes. Just nothing is found there and I cant understand how to meke the database get the right path and the content in my old scnes. Grr. Years of work gone?

    Sounds like a relative versus absolute path thing.

    find them on the old drive. Note down their location everything after the letter colon part. find that same location on the new drive, I'm betting it already exists. copy them to it. Try opening them from there.

    Those are native files created from Poser-format Victoria 4 when saving in DS 3. It isn't the content installation that is the issue, as those files are not installed but were generated by Daz Studio. Do you have your old content directories? If not do you have a copy of Daz Studio 3 that you can install?

    Dang, I hoping for a different solution so I might be able to have DS use my old scene files again without having to reapply textures to everything. the files are installed and the paths show up in the content library, but DS just doesn't want to see it. Oh well, hope the OP gets their issue sorted.

    The problem is most still have no idea that DS has never been able to use Poser content as is, it all has to be dragged through a plugin that converts it into formats DS can use.

    That converted data is then held in RAM, and is only saved out when you save as a scene, with DS1 to DS3 that data was saved out as four file types, daz was the scene file, dso is the mesh, dsd is morphs, dsv is UV coordinates. The daz scene file is saved into the selected content directory, while the dso/dsd/dsv files are saved into that directories data folder.

    Without those dso/dsd/dsv files your .daz scene files will never work, so you are going to have to recreate them.

    To do that you will need to load all the Poser content you used in those scenes in to DS3, and save it all as scenes, as an example load Vicky 4 in to DS3, inject all of her DAZ morphs so only the legacy channels are empty, then save her as a scene. This will recreate the "data/3_0/blMilWom_v4b_68498" folder and sub-folders as well as all the dso/dsd/dsv files for her.

    This can be a lot of work, even more so when you are trying to figure out what products you used fron the info in the log, most wouldn't realise that "blMilWom_v4b_68498" is refering to Victoria 4.2, the blMilWom_v4b is the name of her OBJ file, while the 68498 refers to her vertex count.
