Now I'm slightly confused, it apparently depends on the item being installed? Stuff with checks are metadata-stuff (Smart tab thing)? right?
There are other items where the check-mark is not of the "CF" version, it is on the non-CF version?
(edit)
I don't have poser, hex, Carera(sp?), etc. Just Daz Studio... And that 'Blender' thing that I have yet to even look at.
StudioCF contain Daz Studio optimized materials for Poser content. Those you may want if you use DS as Poser materials don't always look right in DS.
PoserCF on the other hand contain a version of the Daz Studio files that allow loading in Poser via the DSON Importer. These you don't need if you only use Daz Studio.

No. Those are for using DUF content in Poser.

O.K. two completely different "CF" things, look closely at the fine print, lol.
You may also come across BryceCF or BCF packs - those are for Bryce, usually a scene ready to have the main model dropped into it.
Thanks everyone for the info.
