Lost ability to double click to select item in Viewport! SORTED
I've tried searching for help on this but couldn't find what I was looking for.
For some reason I have lost ability to double click to select item in Viewport!
I always used to be able to click on an item to select it, now I have to go into the scene tab and select it that way. I also cannot right click on the item and get the usual list up.
Can someone please advise me as to how to get this back.

In the past (windows XP and earlier), there use to be a "Double Click Speed" setting, and if you were to fast or to slow verses what it was set to, it wouldn't recognize it as a double click. Fell for that many times with driver updates, and forgetting to put it back to my speed preference. If this exists in windows 7, I have yet to find it.
Also there is that annoying sticky-keys thing that I outright hate, tho I don't think it messes with mouse buttons. It is mostly a problem when using the shift and arrow keys to select lots of files. I so wish I could rip that out of windows permanently.
Also, it may just be an old mouse button on it's way out (Assuming the mouse/trackball is very old [in cat years] or well used). try making a line in paint (or equivalent) with the pencil option at one pixel width. If the lien goes dotted or dashed on it's own, it's the button in the mouse.
Other then that, I'm at a loss for ideas. I desperately hope this can be solved.
Attached is all I have for mouse speed options after XP??? [scratching head]
(edit)
If it is a wireless mouse, it may just need a battery/charge. Tho that would be more then just a button issue.
also added windows 98se mouse options screen-cap (my pref is just a smidgen or one notch quicker then default)
I just tried to double click an item in the view-field, and it didn't change the selection first try.
I have never used the double-click to select things, didn't know it existed. The slow option is to hover over what you want to select until the bubble-text thing appears, then click it once. That is an obnoxiously slow progress method tho.
I have just used the scene tab on the other side of the screen from the work-in-progress tab. so I can go back and forth selecting items, adjust, select another, etc. without actually clicking anything in the view-field.
Selection in the Viewport in DAZ Studio is done by a single click in most cases.
A double click on a figure like Genesis for example, will select the root node, a single click selects the body part that is clicked on.
... double check that one has the pointer selected ... doesn't work if in spot render or some of the other tool options.
... D/S has killed several mice over here ... am told they work fine again on other people's computers ... but they absolutely kicked the bucket over here ... I tend to buy the old fashion plugin kind now ... though the plugin one for the die-hard gamers is delightfully responsive.
pointer selected, this pointer? [attached pic]? Do other (mouse things) on the top work for that as well, as there not all available in every [room / activity tab] pain thing?
That killing the mice bit, and my lack of knowing, explains the unpredictable mouse-click behavior I experienced.
I gave up on the battery business years ago, except for the sixteen deep-cycle marine batteries in the back room with the inverters. Tho that is a mater of preference, lol.
Well I don't know what the problem was but it all seems OK now.
Yes that was the pointer I was referring to.
Glad it's working again for you. Sometimes a computer re-boot helps the OS get everything back in order.
