v4.2 instal error, Carrara path? is it needed? What is it? (solved)

I know Carrara is another product sold by Daz, and that's about it.

Is this like the PS bridge Error I keep getting during updates, that I can ignore? Or dose Victoria 4.2 only work with Carrara installed as well?

Those files with "Ca" in the name are the Carrara shaders for V4. If you don't use Carrara you don't need them.. You can set your Download Filters to not download Carrara items.

o.k. [pause in thought] I thought I did that. DIM apparently has issues aside from not remembering my user info. I don't feel like ripping windows 7's guts out today to fix that, if it can be.

So V4.2 and associated figures should work in Daz Studio without whatever Carrara is.

why is DIM only listing studio 4.5 instead of 4.6?
DIM v1.1.0.15 is the current version, correct?

Yes, that's the current version. It lists DS4.5+ because there aren't changes from 4.5 to 4.6 that require a separate category.

sounds good then, and nothing I have located yet has given a missing file error. So I'll call it good enough. I'll deal with the win7 DIM config file permission issue another day (I'm assuming that's why it cant remember anything). Thanks.
