Need help with category

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Hi everyone  ^_^ 
can anyone please help me? I'm trying to create a new category for my files ( so hopefully I'll find them when I need them ) ..

I've watched some tutorial but they are either too old or totally off-topic, and couldn't find anything useful even here in the forums :-)

    Right-click onm the files in the Content Library>Categorise. In the dialogue, to create a new category right-click on the one you want it to be in and select Create>New Category

    Thank you for the hint, but I can't follow it, I'm using 4.12 will that be different? ...

    I should right-click on a file and then on category ... but I can't find any way to create a new category it says " create subcategory " which is not what I'm looking for ...sad

    So you want to create a new top-level category?

    In content library tab you can view the whole list of categories, you can create a new one here by selecting the top-level "Categories" entry and selecting "create a sub-category" in the right-click menu
