DS doesn't import rigging, so anything you import will need to be rigged anyway.
OH REAlly? damn... well, thank you. gonna have to figure out how to rig in daz....you CAN rig in daz, right?
Yeah, if you are rigging something mechanical I highly recommend https://www.daz3d.com/rigging-vehicles-and-mechs-in-daz-studio
For organic I got nothing to recommend, haven't delved into that any at all.
Daz's rigging abilities can be quite advance and yield better results than anywhere if you put the work in.
If it's a humanoid figure you can always use the Transfer Utility to copy the rigging of a Genesis figure onto another figure.
If you have Poser you could import your fbx into poser, then save it as a poser native file, then load that into Daz.
I have never been into making my own props but sometimes I import .obj freebies and would like to add some rigging so that flaps can open or handles turn. Any recommendations for a more simple rigging tutorial would be welcome.
I found this tutorial helpful for rigging: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNFHv8K8qKg&t=202s
