iRay don't like to render! Solved

Dax AvalangeDax Avalange Posts: 340

Helloooo Richard! (Haseltine) I'm Max-S, Dax Avalange as new PA.

Daz Studio maybe got too much sun!!!!!! Give numbers!

I've installed DS 4.12.1.118, cause I got from Daz3D the MLP HD Tool. I tried to render my new character HD at built level 3.

After some try, cause it's a laptop with a GTX1050 ti onboard, anytime rendering anything also not HD, start and stop immediately.

Can you explain me that in the log file? Look at the attached pic! There's a way to reset anything?

Thanks

How up to date are your video card drivers?

Until yesterday I had installed DS 4.10, so the last one for that, yesterday night installed 4.12 to use the HD Tool, but still using the same drivers 419.67 for laptop! Now that you make me think about ... could be a fault of the old drivers seen that DS is 4.12? I can try to install the updated ones I got weeks ago from nVidia website. Let you know what happens! Thank you for the info! yes

REQUIRES NVIDIA Driver 441.22 (or newer) on Windows for pre-Turing GPUs, 442.19 (or newer) on Windows for Turing GPUs; see NVIDIA Driver Downloads

Hey Richard, thank you! Mattymanx told me the same thing.  I replaced the drivers with new ones and now DS works well, it make perfect render! Thank you both guys!

Only a question, just out of my curiosity. The render window of the DS 4.10, the one with infos about iterations etc. during rendering process it write anytime "Cuda device 0, GTX1050ti" and other info, while in the 4.12.1.118 it write (GPU), I see the gtx 1050 name in the log only. Something changes in the information panel? Or DS using CPU for a misteryous Windows 10 reason?

    GPU is the video card.

Ahaha! I'm electronic technician for nuclear research GPIB IEEE 488 Richard, I know what is GPU! Lol! No, my question is if it's an update of the new release to write only GPU and not the name of the card.  yes

Improved reporting of NVIDIA Iray render progress information

I would suspect it's that, but I'm not at all sure.

I have 4.12.1.118 right now. I got an update 2 days ago and since Iray is not working correctly. After an hour and a half it doesn't show even 1% rendered. After 2 and a half hours it's completed but

hasn't really 100 % rendered. Any one else having like problems?  I have Gx 1660 and drivers are up to date.

What is in the scene and what settings you use on iRay?

@Terifict "I got an update 2 days ago and since Iray is not working correctly."

Update of what? Studio  had minor changes between 4.12.1.117 and 4.12.1.118. If your previous Studio was not 4.12.XX, you may not have the miimum required Nvidia driver.

People alsways say "drivers are up to date" or "latest Nvidia drivers", but given the rate of Nvidia updates, that's not enough info. Also, Windows 10 may have updated your GPU driver and replaced the Nvidia driver with an unusable one.

My previous was 4.12.  I have Geforce Experience that always notifies me when new drivers come out. I always use the default settings for Iray. Oddly enough the day after I posted that it started working properly again.

Loaded the "latest" Nvidia  driver is not always a good move.
