(Help please) Do Michael 6 skins work on Michael 5..?

Hi, if I buy Michael 6 and some other M6 character, can I use their skins also on my Michael 5.. characters? Or do I need to convert them somehow, if so is it dfficult?
For example can I use http://www.daz3d.com/hector-for-gianni-6 Gianni skins on my M5 character.
I want to know for sure :/

If you have the UVset (Gianni has his own UV set, which is not the same as M6), you can use Map Transfer to convert it to M5, which G2Male supports out-of-the-box.
Uh.. what is a UVset? Do I get it from M6/Gianni package? Sorry for sounding dumb, I want to have that skin but I don't want to regret my purchase if I should not get this to work.

Genesis/Genesis2 figures can have more than one UVset -- think of it as the texture template that matches points on a flat texture map to vertices on a 3d model. Different shapes sometimes come with new UV sets to minimize texture stretching. For example, Michael 5 has his own texture set which is different from the V4 UVset that Genesis uses by default. G2M supports the M5 UV set, so M5 skins will work on G2M.
DS can convert textures between UV sets as long as the same model supports both UV sets, so if you have a texture set that works on G2M, you can convert it to M5. Hector for Gianni 6 uses the Gianni 6 UV set, so you need to have Gianni 6 to use it.
