I want to be able to apply MATs from Genesis to Genesis2, so I installed the GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2. Only problem is, I can't see where it is in my content library! The readme is very unhelpful as it just says

GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2 (Core)
You can find new icons for loading this product in the following DAZ Studio Folders:
“DAZ 3D:Studio4:GenX2”

No idea what this means! I have no such folder in my content library!

Can anyone help?

Unfortunately GenX has nothing to do with materials - it's for transferring morphs, and requires the base GenX 2 plug-in. What you wanted was probably Victoria 4 fro Genesis 2 Female http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female , which adds the Victoria 4 UVs to G2F, assuming that the textures you want to use are on the Victoria 4 UVs.

    Damn! Thanks

Actually, Richard, what i am trying to do is use Genesis MATs (e.g. Benjamin) with Genesis 2 figures. Is there a converter for that?

If you want to transfer materials, look at Slosh's UV sets for Genesis characters. Notable mentions are David, Aiko and Stephanie. You can use the same DUF materials preset and they will work just fine.

Would that let me apply a Benjamin MAT (for Genesis) to a Genesis 2 figure?

Benjamin uses the Michael 5 UV set, so you don't need anything extra to use it on Genesis 2 Male.

So how come when I have Michael 6 HD in my scene and I double click the Benjamin MAT file nothing happens? (ie I can't apply the Benjamin MAT to Genesis 2).

    See my OP

I was assuming that G and G2 were not compatible.

Is the preset a .dsf or .dsa file? if so you need to apply it to Genesis, then save as a Materials preset in .duf format.

It's a DUF file for the skin MAT

Does it work if you load G2 Male Base rather than Michael 6?

The DS mats use the default DS shader, the HSS ones use Elite Human Surface Shader, which has some extra capabilities.
