Using a HD figure?

Sorry for the beginner question, but how do I use an HD add on to a character?

Christian 8 with Christian 8 HD add  on as an example.

    1. Remember, you will only see the advantage of HD in a closeup so don't bother if they are at a distance.
    2. Change the subdv of your figure as high as your computer will tolerate; you won't see much at subdv 3 and subdv 4 is probablty the sweet spot.
    3. Be prepared to rendering time to substantially increase.
    4. Glancing contour light is your friend to see that topology.
    5. And, of course, you don't talk about Fight Club.

Some figures also have an HD morph slider that needs to be cranked up.

    Thank you for the replies!

#1 Excellent point! I didn't even think of that.

#2  subdv?  Per the porduct page -Viewport subdivision must be turned on - is that parameters mesh resolution?

    #3 Another excellent point.

    #4 Shhh

And I was thinking they were morphs and I think I found them there.  Thank you much!

Select your figure and Go to the Parameters Tab. In General, select Mesh Resolution which for the default HD addons is 4... if it is less than that, you don't really see much HD effect.

Keep in mind every step up in subD quadruples the figures geometry. SubD 4 is doable for me but 5 usually causes scenes to drop to CPU.
