lighting problem: the headlamp will not turn off automaticly when creat a new light

I just started to use daz studio 4.6. If I creat a new spotlight, the headlamp is still on, the environment is still bright, even if I press the "Priew Lights" button. I tried to set the spotlight intensity to zero, but the character is still bright. I saw some videos of tutorial, the environment will go complete dark if you creat a new spotlight and set the intensity to zero.
Anyone knows why?

Some of the surface shaders used on characters can make the figure glow until rendered. Try creating a simple primitive like cube, as it will have just the default shader applied, to see if that is still lit.

Yes! the cube is normal. only my olympia 6 is still lit. Thanks a lot!
But, Is there any way to make my character normal, so I can see the effect before rendering?

First of all, welcome to DAZ Studio and the forums :)

One of the first areas I would explore would be the Surfaces tab- in addition to lighting, you can change the diffuse (think of it as the main color) and the specular (the sheen/glisten/shine) of the skin which will help offset any lighting issues or surface shaders the vendor may be using. Experiment with a darker gray or blue in the diffuse to get started. This is really over simplifying it, but tweaking Surfaces will become a regular part of your experience when using the studio.

Try this too- create four distant lights, one in each "corner" of your render, and set them all to about 15%, don't use white, try a mauve or bluish gray, and see how they light your figure. Then add one spotlight over the shoulder from above, about 20%, and one from in front, about 10%, then adjust from there.

The issue here is the SSS and the sub surface skin glow given off until a full render is done. If set up properly that look will not render in, it will react properly to the lighting used in the Render engine once the true calculations are done. The Viewport runs on the PC graphic card and it's OpenGL driver which can not show what a 3DeLight Shader (SSS) will really look like. Only doing a full render at 3Delight render settings can use the shader correctly.

This can also be seen with most of the other Shaders built to mimic the human skin. They only show properly in the Full render. The HSS shader is the only one I know of that displays in Viewport Close to what a full render will be like. Or did in the older versions of DAZ Studio. I have not used HSS in the New Beta at this time.

    You guys are so expert!
It seem very difficult to make SSS surface show properly before full rendering, right? But it looks so weird that only my character's head glows in my scene.:shut:

The Head glow will render in if your light in Use at render does not use a shadow. That is caused by the light passing through the figure instead of casting a shadow from the surface. I do not know of any way to stop the Glow in the Set up Viewport. But as mentioned, it will render properly with the right lighting and a full render of the shader.

Yes, the result of full 3DeLight rendering is perfect. Only the preview is weird. Well, It seems that I have get used to the glow body in the Set up Viewport~
