Cannot Get Daz latest to load

I have tried to get it to load about 6 times already and it comes up with some error that says it did not load correctly or I don't have permissions on the drive I need it to go on. And then I am left with reinstalling older version and reformating HD. Any one have a work around this major error.

Are you installing with DIM or a standalone installer?

i hope you're doing the install on a different drive or partition than your OS is on - win 10 is a lot more security-fussy than previous windows versions - but here's a quick way of giving yourself permissions (i'll assume your windows user name is Rbug and your PC is called YourComputerName, adjust as necessary)

right-mouse on the folder or drive you're installing to and select Properties

    select the Security tab

click Edit, another window will open.

click Add, yet another window will open

in the 'Enter names to select' box, type Rbug, then click Check Names - an entry should show up similar to YourComputerName\Rbug - click OK.

that window will now close, and YourComputerName\Rbug should now appear in the list of 'Group and user names'

click on YourComputerName\Rbug and check Allow next to 'Full control' in the checklist near the bottom.

click Apply and then OK, the window should close and you should now be in command of your drive/folder

---> it's worth remembering this procedure, as this probably isn't the last time you'll have a permissions issue in win 10... good luck, i hope you get everything up and running.

ok to start it is a standalone installer. second I am a network designer. also A+ and MSCNA, I have permissions it seems it is daz that is causing the problem.... Cannot figure out why

How are you installling? What is the exact message you are getting? was asked and I am not going to take the risk again of reinstalling and reformating the drive again it is too much like real work. the errors are basically what I noted.

You reformatted the drive? Yikes. I've never had to do that even though I have a LOT of drives (5 computers and about 17 drives).

I have some left over from my hollywood days, luckily they are all newer, but the one I am trying to put daz on is a new 6T drive and it is internal. Well it is a hot swap drawer. And yes everytime I try to load the new 12 on it, it causes me to have to format the drive.

Ok fixed it, I turned the drive that was causing the issue off and loaded daz to my daz drive and well it all works now yay
