Please help a newbie - D4 / Poser / Clothes help
Hello everyone ! 1st time poster here !
I have always loved Poser but only recently started to try to use it,, so PLEASE DO reply to me as I've I'm a 3 year old here, as I am very much just learning, and have a few questions. Thanks !
I am working with
Poser 10, Vue 2014, and Daz Pro 4.6 (though I tried to get the beta and that's one of my questions but I will get to that in a sec)
What I DO NOT WANT TO DO IF HUMANLY POSSIBLE - spend hundreds more dollars on additional software. Poser,
Vue and my models set me back plenty as it is.

Questions
1. I love using D4 more than Poser. I can load a figure - Genesis 2
Female, and have my clothes auto conform - perfectly. However, I export that as
a CR2 and then try to use it in Poser, or better yet, use the same figures and clothes in Ppser but it won't conform over her breasts like Daz does. Why ? I want to perform the exact same steps in Poser without investing hours of time and money to manually manipulate Genesis or Vicky and Michael 5 with magnets just to do it. There HAS to be a similar "Daz" way to export - with- clothes -
And to use something like DSON which brings them
Over perfectly confirmed with 1 button press. How do I go about doing this, step by step please.
2. My ultimate goal is to put these figures into Vue . So , since it seems
there is no native way to export directly from Daz to Poser to Vue, I would like to know the exact steps you
All use to accomplish this. Steps please.
3. I tried on my own to export my figure with clothes - genesis 2 female w
Magna heart wardrobe and some nice textures as a DXF file. I selected
all the morphs and chose to bake the textures on to the figure,, so I could get a WYSIWYG import
of my figure into Vue. I got it to work as an OBJ file, but the DXF format seems to be the way to go because of 1. It keeps be clothes and 2. I believe it can still be posed in Vue if I need to make adjustments .but when I choose this format, it churns forever trying to generate the file
And then crashes every single time. The log file refers to some memory address that keeps on not being able to be read. I have 8gb ram and a 64 bit windows 8 OS. I am doing nothing on the system when it is running as an Admin, and yet it keeps crashing. How do I fix this? I want to use this format to do exports.
4. Last question for now. I understand D4 was updated to 4.6.3
In beta. Because of my crashing with DXF issue, I wanted to try this version to see if it helps, but it either does not work or download.
My help screen after trying to get it says v4.6.2
I think, and the product screen for the beta says it is v4.3.x.
I know I am using the latest install manager . It goes by so fast I don't see what it did or if it downloaded. I do notice the beta seems to only be 2 files. Do I put them somewhere to manually update the client to the beta version? If so, where? Steps please.
Thank you ALL so much for taking the time
To answer these for me. I love art so much and getting this working would be a huge help ! Thanks again !!!

1. Poser 10 will work with the (free) DSON Importer for Poser, which will let you import your scenes saved as .duf (either use the (free) Dimension3D script to simply import from a file dialogue, or create Poser Companion Files to load through the library - for saved scenes I think the former will be easier). Remember that Poser 10 is 32-bit only, so your system will be more limited than DS if you have the 64-bit version of that.
2. I don't have Vue (yet, I keep wavering every time they have a sale).
3. I assume you mean FBX? If so, what are your options on export? Does it work with a single figure?
4. In the Install Manager - Ready to Download tab click the Download filters button and make sure Public Beta is checked. If it is click the Display Hidden box on the Ready to Download tab - the Public beta and the Public beta plug-ins should then be visible, ready to download and isntall (the Public Beta is separate from the main version - it doesn't even share settings so anything you've changed from default will need to be reset in the beta; you will also want to uninstall and reinstall the Default Lights and Shaders pack, and any other shaders or plug-ins, so that the needed files are added to the beta as well as the main version of DS.
I absolutely cannot thank you enough ! Your help guided me to exactly what I needed to answer ALL 4 questions ! That 3D importer really did the trick !
And since I have Vue 2014 Complete, it has the built in Poser / Collida import module, which worked fantastically !
I do have 1 follow up question, again, newbie I know -
Everything imported swimmingly into Vue, however, some of the textures appeared "torn" like some of it wasn't mapped onto the model.
In all fairness, I used a HD skin texture on my Poser model, but I would think that would not matter, correct?
In theory, I should be able to choose any skin I like and import it in the exact same fashion without tearing, into Vue, right ?
I also, in additional research, recently learned of (what I believe is a plugin) called SKINVUE. Should I be using this for some kind of post processing or anything?
Again, my deepest thanks ! I have spent HOURS trying to accomplish this on my own, manually, and my frustration level was understandably high. You really helped me out, and to that, I thank you again!
All the best !

Was the texture misaligned when you imported the textured model, or were you applying new textures in Vue? Genesis etc. have multiple different UV sets - applying textures in DS, or in Poser via the DSON Importer, should assign the correct UVs but if they aren't assigned or are lost then you will get seams opening up.
Everything looked great in D4. I will tell you what I did step by step as that helps me a lot. I may not know a control or dial to use so please feel free to tell me what screens to use / look at.
1. I open Genesis and then I apply Vicky 5 to a blank scene.
2. I apply the entire Mangna Heart wardrobe.
3. I add the Tori full HD skin texture to Victoria 5.
4. I add Actual Eyes to Tori.
5. In this example I will leave her unposed
6. I save her as a scene .DUF file
7. I run the D3D script inside Poser 10 to import from D4 to Poser
8. Once in Poser she looks pretty good. No tears that I can see.
9. I saved her as both a Colida DAE and PZ3 file
10. I open Vue Complete which has the built in importer module, and the figures come over.
11. I verify I Vue that it is using Poser 10 and have also tried the 2012 and 2013 SDK files.
12. Figure comes over mostly ok but has skin tearing on hands, legs and neck area - aka. "White spots" where you can see the model.
That's where I am at now. All assistance is greatly appreciated !
It definitely sounds as if the UVs are being set to the Victoria 4 set - if in DS you open the Surfaces pane, select all of the Genesis Surfaces, and change the UV Set to Victoria 4 I suspect you will see the same thing. However I'm not sure how to fix the issue if that is it.
