How to stop props from auto fitting?

edited December 1969 in New Users

Okay so if I load a prop, say a sword designed for M4, to my Genesis 2 the auto fit automatically treats it like clothing and drapes it around the character making it into a weird blob instead of whatever it used to be. I know I could load it individually but then I have to re-position it back into Genesis 2's hands every time I repose the character which is really time consuming. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have never seen this behaviour before.

If it is a Prop item, Autofit will not be called, and there should be no conversion. Are you seeing the Autofit dialogue when you load this sword?

Can you show an image of what you are seeing, and tell us what sword exactly you are trying to use?

But, don't have anything (or at least not Genesis) selected when you load the sword. That way it won't try to auto-conform.

Edit: then just parent the sword to the hand.

About some weapon (made for cr2 type figures) or handhold etc,,
have rigs, to pose easy.. (though we need to say it figure, but categorize as prop seems more naturall I believe:)

Then as you said, you need to adjust the positon of the weapon, and parented to hand etc,,
to use them as parented props. (not fit to the Actor rigs)

but once you adjust the positon , you can save them as wearable preset.
(must select your Actor,, then save as wearable preset, and select your handhold)

After that you can use the wearable perset.duf to load the item auto parented your actor hand,, and follow Actor poze.
( you may not need to check "on" inlude actor poze.
it auto change the Actor poze to current pozing.)
