3 graphics card question (where to plug monitors)

I have 3x1080ti graphics cards.
I just realized I can run my monitors from the 2nd and 3rd graphics card.
Does it free up graphics ram when rendering not having my 4 monitors plugged into my main graphics card?

It might. WDDM reserves some VRAM on every card. If the video buffer needed to drive three monitors is larger than that minimum then switching to driving one monitor off each might free up some VRAM on the card that is currently driving all 3.
Excellent Kenshaw, considering that two of the monitors are 4k, it does probably use more vram, it probably distributes the heat across the cards more evenly too to put them on the cards where the vram is not being used by the cpu and apps.
