Dumb me - why don't Morphs++ show up?

I've been messing with 3D for a couple of years now, starting in DAZ Studio and later migrating mostly to Poser. Now I'm trying to do some stuff in DS4.6 and I am baffled...

I load in V4.2, and then inject Morphs++. It seems to go through the motions, displaying a long list of all the stuff I presume is being loaded. But when it finishes, I go to the Scene tab, and make sure V4.2 is selected... then I go to the Parameters tab, and there is no sign of the morphs. I know the morphs are present on my system and they work properly because I can access and tweak them in Poser. But no sign of them in DAZ Studio.

What am I doing wrong?

Do you have V4 installed in more than one content folder?

    Maybe so, Mike, I'll check.

    Thanks for the pointer.

also, "Parameters"? I see morphs in the "Shaping" tab for the Genesis and Genesis2 figures. Is it different for older characters?

Note, I got the Genesis2 morph stuff, so it may be different sliders for V4/V4.2 morphs.

total brain-fart, yes there is much more controls in the "Parameters" then in the "Shaping" tab. What was I thinking.

If done correct you should see all morphs for all figures in Parameters (in the morphs section, if full body not selected). But the Shaping Tab is new and came with Genesis, I've never looked in Shaping once for morphs. I come from years of the older DAZ Studio's and expect morphs in Parameters.

On that note, I will look at Shaping and check all my figures just to see what I see.

There's a setting in the morph data file to indicate whether it should appear on the Shaping or Pose tab -- if it isn't set then the morph will only appear on the Parameters tab.

Right, but I don't. There are no shaping morphs present. I'm stumped.

My other post was more a general FYI than at you. But here is a question for you.
How is the folder that holds your V4 and Morphs++ mapped in DS? It sounds like it is a old folder so I just wish to know if it was mapped properly for DAZ 4.5+ to use.

He's correct I think. I was just setting up that new room and low and behold, Morphs is not in the new "Parameters" tab. If the 'root' figure is not selected. Note it has "Head" next to the 'bone' not "Genesis 2 Fe...".

It may be an install path issue as well.

idle thought. With Genesis (1&2), I don't need to go to the content library and load any morph package anything that I had purchased and installed with DIM, for the sliders to be there.

I just load the figure, and go to the morph tab, and the sliders are already there... for Genesis at least.

That is correct. Genesis and the G2's auto populate. All older figures need a Powerloader or to have the morphs user injected one at a time. Another option some did in the Past was to inject all the morphs and then create a fully loaded Cr2 file. Which was not as easy to do back then as it is now.

I bought a new computer (iMac 27" system) in February 2013, and started fresh installing all my content on the new machine. I use the DAZ3DIM for all the content I get from DAZ. That is installed into a directory called My DAZ 3D Library, which is the default used by the DIM. Other content from Rendo, RDNA, etc. is installed in a separate directory called My Library.

Since I let the DIM manage all the DAZ content, I don't think the V4 and Morphs++ mapping is wrong. I can access Morphs++ when I use Poser, and after I INJ the Morphs++ into V4 the Parameter sliders appear fine there. Doing the same thing in DS4.6, I can't find the sliders. I've tried using the Powerloader to inject the morphs, and I've tried doing it manually, but I am having no success either way.

I did a search on my system for the Victoria 4.2.cr2 file, and there is only one instance on my system, right where it is expected to be. So I don't think I have a situation where the software is getting confused between multiple copies of V4.2 floating around.

    I continue to be stumped.

Check your Content Directory Manager in DS -- DIM doesn't change your DS settings, so the "My DAZ 3D Library" location might not be included in DS.

The thing is, I can load all kinds of stuff from "My DAZ 3D Library" and it works fine. I can even access the "Morphs++" INJ and it goes through the motions of loading... but no sliders in the Parameters tab.

Can you post a screenshot of your Content Directory Manager showing the DS-formats and Poser formats?

Do you have a "Runtime:Libraries:!DAZ:Victoria 4" folder in more than one of those Poser-format locations?

Mike, it turns out I did have that folder in two of the Poser-format locations. By trial-and-error, I was able to rename the extra one and now I have my Morphs++ dials back in place. Thank you very much!
