Strand-based hair - SHORT HAIR?

I am trying to create a very short hairstyle using the Strand-based hair function within Daz studio. I have the shape that I want just fine, however, adjusting the Length of the hair does not seem to change the actual length of the strands when I try and do a test render.

I have tried the scissors, but it is uneven, while I would like to go for the 'buzzed', 'clippers' look.

Does anyone have any solutions for this?

How are you changing the length? Through the length parameter on the Paint tab, or using the Extend Curves tool on the Style tab? I’m not at my compute, so excuse me if some of the terms I’m using aren’t exactly right.

I have used the Extend Curves tool in the Style tab, and that did exactly what I needed. Thank you very much!
