Sandals nowhere to be found

Hi, everyone!

I bought Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female ( http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female ) and Three Pairs of Sandals ( http://www.daz3d.com/three-pairs-of-sandals ) and installed them thinking any compatibility issues would be easily fixed. However, while I can find the folder in the content library with the poses and materials, the sandals proper are nowhere to be found. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, installing manually, installing to different directories, but none of it helped. At this point I have no idea what to do and it's driving me up the wall.

Is there a read me file? Does that tell you where they are? Sometimes they are found in Props.

The sandals would probably be in the Figure library, under Poser Formats, I think that vendor tends to use a folder with his own name for the figures.

My usual if-nothing-else-works fix for this situation is to look inside the installer zips themselves and see what's where before the files get lost in your content folder. Sometimes things get put into amazingly non-obvious places. Watch out especially when there are separate Poser and D|S installers, sometimes the D|S one is a full installation, sometimes it's only materials presets, which might or might not be doubled up as "sidecar" files in the Poser Runtime. There are lots of ways to put together content files, and it's very unusual to find there's "only one right way" to do it.

glad to hear you found them in less time then it took me to find one of the figures I purchased last month, lol.

A simple readme.txt file that states what 'content library' path stuff gets put in would so much be appreciated, regardless if the stuff is smart-tab-thing compliant or not. (Wilmap is excluded from that general daz store complaint, thanks Wilmap)

Y'all had my hopes up with the wording "sandals", so high-heals are now called sandals? well in any case, enjoy. I'll wait for the plain old sneakers.

You mean you would like a file list that actually showed the path the content went to? Why not one that showed the real path on your own system? Oh, wait...

Whelp! New problem. When I try to follow the instructions in http://sickleyield.deviantart.com/art/A-Reminder-on-Autofitting-Shoes-to-Genesis-2-412985230 the mesh deforms. Is this supposed to happen?

"O" that is so useful. Now I just need to remember what path was for the hair, and what one was for the hair colors. Or is there a specific file extension I should be looking for as a clue?

double-post. I don't know much about the 'auto-fit', and I noticed "Poke threw" with some cloth items in the past. No clue what there referring to when they say "Adjust the item, then save it"... "Adjust" the item, how?

The first step is to convert them properly the the G1 figure, the method is not V4 to G2F it is V4 to G1 then Try Autofit from G1 to G2F. If that fails you then do G1 to G2F. there is no V4 to G2F tutorial at this time.

Do you mean I have to load a G1 figure in the scene and fit the sandals to it first before fitting them to the G2 figure?

Fitting it to a Genesis 1 figure causes the same problem.

Fitting it to a Genesis 1 figure causes the same problem.Read the Tutorial. One the G1 needs to be the V4 shape, after auto fit you turn Fit to Off for the shoes. You then Pose the G1 Feet to Fit in the now Not fit to Shoes. You then do the Rig transfer. Then you do Fit to Again and the Shoes should Now and only Now at this step Fit properly. It never once said they will fit on load.

The problem is that I can't apply the V4 shape to the G1 figure, only to the G2 figure.

    I'm sorry if my questions are bothering you ^^;;

You just bought those V4 shoes did you not? You have 30 days from the day of purchase to return your purchase to DAZ 3D, that is done in a support ticket to sales and you just need your purchase order number in your return request. I suggest you do so and then use that money to buy shoes that are for G2F. I see no other way unless you wish to buy the V4 shape for G1.

I just followed the full tutorial for a V4 to Genesis1 transfer. As shown below it does work if followed. This is the First time I have ever gotten V4 Shoes on my Genesis.

look'en good to. I don't have the v4 for G1 either. I didn't by the shoos because of that. There are many for G1 (genesis 1) and G2 (genesis 2), so an exchange shouldn't be to painless.

I had one G1 hair style, that went way to high on the forehead when I tried to Auto-fit it to Genesis 2 Female. Again there are many Genesis 2 Female styles, so it was not much of an issue.

Well I refuse to lie. I just tried a second set for a set of clothing I really like and for some reason when you get to the Fit to step they snap back to the default load position and do not fit to properly. So some shoes appear to work well and others not at all. This is still better in my view than none at all. I can now convert some V4 sets fully to the G1 figure.
