Klareyn Dress by 3djoji: How to use the belt.

IsaacNewtonIsaacNewton Posts: 1,300

In the advertisement for Klareyn Dress by 3djoji, it says the following:

"Great attention was made to get the best shapes for the dress according the poses, but this dress is dForced and can be simulated to get the best natural wrinkles for the chosen pose. When used, the dForce Bow Belt gives the dress an complete different shape and it adds great wrinkles to the dress."

My question is about the words "when used". There is no documentation indicating how to use the belt. Would the PA please provide some instructions on "how" to use the belt to get the results shown in the promo pictures.

What have you tried that isn't working?

You did not mention whether you have the product or not, so let me explain in more detail. The dress and belt are separate items. The dress conforms to the figure, the belt does not. The belt loads as a separate item that is larger than the dress. The picture attached shows the Klareyn figure with dress and belt after simulation compared to the promo pic.

I don't have the dress, but my assumption is that the belt is dForce with a contraction-expansion rate at 90% or so, meaning it will gather closer around the body when the simulation starts.

So have you actually tried to run the simulation?

Try to select the belt in the scene tab, go to surfaces and expand, and if there is a simulation section, select that and post a screenshot of that.

Also select the belt and look in the Parameters pane - is there a Simulation group, and if there is is the belt set to be dynamic? Loking at your screen shot I wonder if you are meant to aniamte the scaling of the skirt so that it starts large (to avoid intersecting with the dress) and shrinks in during the simulation (to gather the dress in) - perhaps only the loose ends are dynamic.

The BeltBow item (Belt and Bow, as shown when I make it invisible) does have a Simulation group and as far as I can see, it is Dynamic (see screen shots). Only the bow is simulated when I run a simulation.

I also wondered if the Belt can only be used in an animated simulation where it is gradually reduced in scale, thus pulling the skirt in. However, that would mean guessing approximately how far to scale the belt. Further, the belt shape does not conform to the figure waist shape.

Even if this is the way that the belt is meant to be used then the words "when used" are not sufficient explanation of how to use the belt. How ever the belt is supposed to be used, I am disappointed in the PA 3djoji for not providing clear instructions, and disappointed in DAZ3d for not spotting this oversight. Isn't that part of the Quality Control that PAs and clients pay for? If I buy a flat pack wardrobe I would expect it to come with more instructions than "when used, this product can contain clothes".

    Something is wrong.

The belt clearly shows it has dForce enabled and at full strenght.

And then when the simulation is running it shouldn't be hanging in mid air, but fall to the ground so it seems to me that your simulation has failed.

There is probably a weight map cont rolling dynamic strength.

Hi guy, I've been contact by Richard regarding the trouble you get with the belt of the dress. Even it seems that people claims that there are no explanation, PA 3djoji has provided clear instructions, there is a quickly user manual in a popup of the item which seems so easy to understand. The belt is only used when the dforce is used. It is an accessory which cinch the dress during the process. No way to use it without the dforce engine even there are some JCM attached to it to adjust it during the dforce process. I can give more help about it.
