Hi,, I have not bought the product,, (though I have interesitng about the tool)

but, if you have original texture for diffuse or specular ,reflect bump etc,, witch fit to UV ,
you can easy apply or change each maps in surface tab without the tool.

(just click the image icon of the parameter (shader property) in surface tab,
then select your image for the shader property.

And DAZ offer LIE (Layer image editor) tool, with daz studio as free, aleady.
you can access it in surface tab too.

serch by "LIE" in forume, you may find many topics.

It can make and save your original layered image preset as texture map.

eg you can apply original lip image (may need alpha for transparent part) as new layer,
on the base texture (or just colored texture) layer.

or apply sweat image on specular map, diffuse map.

where you want (you can translate scale, rotate the lip image)
then set how to mix cloros,, (add subtract etc)
without export Gimp or photoshop (Krita etc I believe).

maybe the Skin Builder Pro, make them more easy.
and they seems offered with many pro fessional made textures.

but I do not know, if it can exchange or add other original image in the tool preset.
    (I hope so)

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Most of that went way over my head LOL
Can I assume what you are saying is that you can do what skin builder does already and skin builder just makes it easier.
Secondly I can put textures on to iris but only one's already mapped in Daz or in other packages

Skin Builder has (I believe) a series of textures that are designed to stak on top of each other. There aren't any other packages like that, with or without scripts to do the stacking for you, but there are packs of overlays for details that can be used on top of a skin texture that doesn't clash too badly with them. Also, you can use a different set of textures on one area of the body from another - for example, you could use a set of eye or nail settings from a character set with the skin from Skin Builder fairly easily, while getting a set of lip textures that would blend nicely with the rest of the face made in Skin Builder might be trickier..
