Help with resource files

Can someone please tell me how to install the resource files that come with certain items properly. With all the trouble I have been having with just getting things to work using Daz Installer, I want to make sure I know what to do before I buy anything that needs them.

Also some have two different types with different extensions, do I need to download and install both or do you only need one or the other. In most cases there is .exe file and a .sit feel. They both have the same names.

    Which pack are you referring to? Is it a DAZ pack? How are you installing the packs? DIM or Manually?

    .sit is the old packaging for Macs - there should be few, if any, products in the store using that - if this is content you bought a while back check for updated downloads.

    When you talk of resource files do you mean the ones that you can download from the "resources" tab on the store page. If these are what you mean they are the templates that you can use to make alternative textures, and are not used in DS at all.

    They are Daz packs and I use the Daz Installer to load all my items. I have had issues with things not showing up, or not being able to find them unless I go through the categories section of the Content tabs. I just want to make sure that I download them into the correct folder, so that they show up for my items. Thanks :)
