Bone names getting changed during FBX export?

I've been exporting from DS to Motionbuilder via FBX for a while now. Today I've noticed that DS 4.12 and even 4.11 are changing the name of some bones upon export? When did that start?
This creates problems re-importing the FBX and applying animations to G8 figures as the bone names no longer match.
What gives?

Or has this always been like that??
Now I'm getting really confused. Went back to DS 4.9 and it looks like the imported bone names are already different from the original G8 figure.
Strange.. I could have sworn that these were usually the same DS names for the bones.
