You can either use the Install Manager to install the Genesis Starter Essentials and Genesis 2 Starter Essentials, or you can download the zip files, unpack them, and then merge the contents into your content location.

If you wish to use the Install Manager, and want to know how to tell it to install your files into an existing runtime, here's some information on that process.

If you wish to install manually, Jaderail has some helpful instructions here.

I haven't seen that error message before...what exactly were you doing or trying to do when that came up?

The DSON is only the DSON Plugin for Poser that has the Installer. The Dson format content is all in ZIP file format only. They never came with installers for content.

the directions had said that along with the dson download there would be two content installers...those would setup the files for the content etc, didn't get those in download

They are Content Files in your Products Library, you should have the DAZ Studio Version of the Content and either a Dson version or a PoserCF version or just the Same Content with a PS added to the File name. Those are the Extra Poser files needed for the Dson Poser Plugin to convert the DAZ Studio content into versions that will open in Poser. That is what the Information means.

I'm only running Poser9 and I know it supports the DSon Plugin. I will also say I very seldom use Poser at all. So I can not say for sure which versions of Poser support the DSon plugin. In my work flow Poser is just a plugin for DAZ Studio. Sorry. Does the DSon Plugin information not state which versions are supported? I never looked as Poser9 was stated in the very first DSon release.

it says 9 and 12 but have been told that 10 will work but nothing works...don't even have a clue about my save location, one was never setup, fixing to say forget it, ive wasted two days, the instructions just aren't detailed enough.

I'm sorry I have no information beyond what I listed. Except Poser needs the SP3 update for Poser9, maybe all do?. Before Dson works. That is all I know.
