So very impressed with Daz3D

Having cut my teeth making movies with machinema, I just have to say how impressed I am with the Daz3d environment. Yes, it takes a little getting used to, but the more I work with it, the more the logic of it makes sense to me. The large number of tutorials, especially videos, is very helpful. And it's pretty stable for such a complex program running on an inherently unstable environment (Windows). Anyway, thanks for implementing it.

Welcome to the club. Just to confuse you though, Daz 3D is actually the company. Daz Studio is the application.

With me I pretty much fell in love almost instantly with Daz Studio, though it took me about a week to get used to the new interface. I was far too used to Poser's more unusual methods of dealing with certain aspects, so it felt a little alien at first. Now I doubt I'd want to return.

But by and large the best part about Daz is that there are so many awesome forumites able to lend a paw when you get stuck. The guys and gals here helped me rise from a total newbie to where I am now (and a lot of experimentation, of course), so don't be afraid to ask questions if you want to figure something out.

DAZ Studio has been my tool of choice for many years now. I very seldom boot my Poser 9 anymore, my Carrara even less unless its for Carrara content only, and I'm too cheap to buy a good version of VUE. I love what I can do just in DS all by itself.
I will play in Bryce from time to time, it's my poor mans version of VUE but it is still a great tool on its on.
Welcome to your newest addiction, or welcome to mine if you prefer that instead.

Even with limited ram in this computer, I'll second that.

Been a user for less then a month, and the more I figure out, the cooler Daz Studio gets. I first installed Daz Studio Apr 1st. I'm officially addicted to rendering, even if it is to see how light bounces around an empty room, lol.

I evaluated DAZ Studio 4.5 and Poser 9 about 18 months ago. At the time, I was a complete 3D art novice although I've been working with computers for over 30 years. I found DAZ Studio much easier to use, especially the main camera tracker-ball control. The one in Poser had a hair trigger, which made it impossibly fiddly for me to use. The DAZ one is reasonably slow and easy.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

DAZ Studio in combination with all the great content really make creating or visualizing what I want to show so much easier, specially for someone like me who cannot draw but have ideas. For me DAZ Studio is like a prosthetic for my inadequate skills with pencils or brushes, almost like someone being lame from birth is given an exoskeleton to be able to move freely.

I completely agree, DS is awesome ! I create art by hand for yrs, pencils, markers, etc.... Yrs ago, I began 3D with 3DS, Poser 4 & Bryce. I lost intrest fast, yrs later I discover DS. DS has all I need to put my ideas to render, in a snap. The interface is very easy to interact with, content browsing can be a pain for newbies, but all comes together after continuous trial/error, learning curve. .

I believe what sets Daz apart from other softwares is, all the fantastic people I have met at DS forums, tremendously helping me, with continous questions. Without thier help, I would have lost intrest fast in DS as well. But I've learned tons of information, I'm still trying to absorb. Although many others have contributed, HOF, Pete (Szark), and Jade made it all happen. Thanx friends.

Majority of my frustrations were a very, very slow system, which limited me as to what I was able to render, without crashing, freezing, out of memory, etc..... Happy those day's are over, at least for now.

    Happy rendering :-)

    My sentiments exactly.
