Nothing in my presets or editor

All the tutorials I have seen have all sorts of picture files in the presets and editor.
Mine only has instructions to make a selection from the list at left,...but...there is nothing on the left

Have you installed the Genesis 2 Essentials?
Do you actually have something selected in the scene?
Yes on genesis
I tried putting Hollywood Blvd but nothing happens that I can tell in the main window.
I believe the problem here is I don't know what I'm doing.
So, I will keep messing with it until I do.
Yea, that tab is finicky to get use to. It shows different things depending on what is selected in the scene, or not selected.
I know that tab is blank if I select a light, and it is on the camera tabs (or vice versa). Dose that tab show stuff, if a tutorial is going? I don't know, I watched all that stuff over on youtube before installing Daz Studio.
You got Daz Studio installed, so I will guess the paths for all that add-on stuff went fine.
Is the CMS running? That will kill that tab.
Many words are also "tabs", click on them to get a change.
In several places one can also 'right-click' and 'refresh' to get an updated list of what is available.
Good ketch 'Patience55', I didn't notice he was on "Surfaces" instead of "Smart Content". However I did this to myself thinking CMS was a "dot-NET" server service I didn't want running.
He should have Something, Anything under that "All". There is Nothing under "All", CMS is Not Running.
This is what it should look like with CMS running, and nothing selected or in the scene.
It just hit me as I was messing with orphan links in my scenes tab I just purged today.
I just killed CMS, and guess what... BRB, needt to reboot to get CMS back running.
