Hello All:

I keep having a problem with certain M6 skins coming out looking like lizards. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Jason

I think they might be the high bump ones for distant shots
but then thats not a real close up so really do not know
turning down bump on all would help though

Which skins, what render setting, what light setting, what program are you using, and what render engine?

That is the SSS texture groups error. There is a thread in commons some place that explains the fix. I never use SSS so I do not have the info handy.

Its likely that shading rate value for the surface is too high and you will need to lower it. If you are using AoA Subsurface its called "shading rate" and if you are using omUbersurface its called "subsurface shading rate". Try setting shading rate to 1.0 for all surfaces (select the figure in the scene, select it again in surface tab and set the shading rate). If it looks ok, try increasing the value to 2, 4, 8, etc. Generally speaking, try getting highest value you can "get away with" because lowering the rate increases render time.

Yes, this is related to the Subsurface Shader settings. It could be what Jaderail said (you need to change the Group IP setting on the skin in question) or what ben98120000 said (the shading rate is too high) or possibly both.
